Happy Thanksgiving!
Here's a quick overview of what we have been learning across grade levels in Spanish this past month or so!
In Kindergarten and 1st grade, we have been learning
about colors and shapes. We finished this past week off by learning a fun turkey song. Ask your child to sing it to you for Thanksgiving.
Your 2nd graders just finished up a colors unit, where they learned to read, write, and talk about color words. We also learned some fun Thanksgiving vocabulary and a fun song.
3rd grade finished learning the numbers to
20, and moved on to learning the body parts. We finished up that unit with a fun project in class.
In 4th grade, we learned numbers to 50
and just finished our classroom objects unit, which incorporated possessive
pronouns.
The 5th graders finished numbers to 100
and learned to tell time in Spanish.
And in 8th grade, we finished up our classroom objects unit with a fun backpack
project and moved on to adjectives, learning about "los opuestos" (opposites). We also learned the difference between the verbs “ser”
and “estar” and how to conjugate those irregular verbs for the various personal pronouns. We also learned a bit about Hispanic culture and Día de los Muertos, and
learned how to conjugate regular verbs.
I hope everyone has a wonderful break and I'm excited to dive into some new stuff after Thanksgiving!
